Choosing the Right Hairstyle for Your Face
In this article I will help to outline how you can make the most of your hair, giving examples of different styles that you can use and my own techniques for regaining my hair.
Having hair is a funny thing; when you’re young and you have lots of it you tend not think about it too much, however when you start to lose it that you really start to appreciate it. This is certainly how I felt when my hair started to thin in my early 20s. Principal Skinner was absolutely correct when he said that hair is a privilege!
This isn’t to say that bald men cannot be attractive as they certainly can be and many women in fact love bald men. Notice I said bald and not “balding”. Balding can make you look unhealthy and even rather effeminate. Your best bet would be to either shave your hair off or look at surgical or non-surgical hair restoration procedures. If you do decide to shave it off then you would be much better off bulking up at the gym, growing a beard, tanning if you are pale (pale is a big no-no) and perhaps even getting some tattoos.
It is vitally important to choose the right hairstyle which suits your face shape/skull. You will have to determine which shape best describes your face.
Below I have outlined a list how to choose the best hairstyle to suit the shape of your face which will help you to look your best. If you are unsure about what shape your face is, I have included some guidance below. Ensure that you have a good tape measure (preferably one used by tailors):
1) Forehead:
Measure your forehead from the widest part (usually just past your eyebrows and hairline).
2) Jawline:
Measure your jawline from the tip of your chin to below your ear at the exact point in which your jaw angles upwards. As you have two jawlines you will need to multiply this by two.
3) Cheekbones:
Measure side to side from the pointiest parts just below the corner of each eye.
4) Face Length
Run the tape from the centre of your hairline to the very tip of your chin.
